Behind the creation of my made-to-measure wedding dress is Annabé Créations Singulières. And, behind Annabé, hides a talented dressmaker: Johanna Benuszak. Before explaining in detail in other publications the whole process of creating my wedding dress that we carried out together with Johanna, I would like to tell you here the beautiful story behind the creation of her brand Annabé.
In my very first blog post about my unique wedding proposal, I started by sharing that I was the kind of girl who had been exchanging wedding dress photos with her best friend for years, dreaming of the famous D-day. By now you should know that this best friend is Johanna Benuszak! She is the daughter and granddaughter of seamstresses and has always been passionate about haute couture and embroidery. I had already had the chance to enjoy her talents through clothes that she had sewn with her hands and that she had offered to me on various occasions, to my great pleasure!
Then, during a weekend in Etretat, came the day of the announcement of my engagement. It was obvious that Johanna would be the one to make my wedding dress. To think that she didn't know yet that this dress, which would be her first wedding dress made by her fairy fingers, would be far from being her last... But, I come back to this famous announcement weekend. Once we recovered from our emotions, we didn't waste a moment because, in the space of that same weekend, we had already started to exchange ideas and other inspirations for my future dress and Johanna had already taken all my measurements. The creative process was underway, to the delight of both of us!
It is important to know that at that time, Johanna was working in a completely different professional field, but was still driven by her passion for sewing. She was sewing more and more, for herself, for her loved ones, and had even created an Instagram page, as well as a YouTube page, dedicated to this passion. She had also been thinking for several years of realizing her dream by creating her own sewing workshop, without launching herself until then.
Then, very quickly during the process of creating my wedding dress, she dared to live her dream and her brand was born: Annabé Créations Singulières, dedicated to the creation of custom-made wedding dresses, imagined and made in her workshop between Paris and Laval. Indeed, it is extremely important for her that each dress is entirely made in co-creation with the bride, in order to achieve a unique model that will sublimate the bride in the smallest details and reflect her personality during what will be one of the most beautiful and important days of her life. Johanna, strong of her know-how, makes all her dresses by hand in exceptional fabrics thanks to the techniques of high fashion.
I will always appreciate how lucky I was to have been able to live this creative process with her and to have been able to wear the dress of my dreams. And, above all, I will never forget all the emotions associated with this creation, both for her and for me. So, if you can and want to, I will definitely recommend you to have your dream creation with her. Both the creative process and the final garment will be memories for life!
